Description: Measuring about 7" x 11", and 70 pages long, plus five unnumbered pages of tissue protected plates, this hardback book is "A Memorial of William McKinley, from the City of Boston." Published in Boston by the Municipal Printing Office, it is dated 1902 but reflects the content of memorial services held in November, 1901. According to the copyright notice, only 2,000 copies were printed. The presentation "Compliments of George A. Whiteley" is handwritten in pencil on the back of the half-title page. I don't know who George A. Whiteley was, but my guess would be some Massachusetts politician or government employee. The book is in generally very good and readable condition, but, due to some apparent binding flaw, one of the plates is separated from the binding.
