Description: Vintage Mc Laggan Smith mug made in Alexandria, Scotland featuring three different autumn/harvest scenes from the Bedford Book of Hours. The Book of Hours was a late medieval book of prayers created for the wedding of John, Duke of Bedford, to Anne of Burgundy in 1423. It is a milestone in medieval art and is on display at the British Library where we bought this mug. The bottom is marked "McLaggan Smith Alexandria Scotland 0389 58204 From the Bedford Book of Hours circa 1423 Autumn © The British Library Board." Measures approx 3-5/8" tall, 2-5/8" bottom diameter, and flares ever so slightly to 2-7/8" top diameter. Holds 9 ounces filled to the brim. Excellent condition - no chips, cracks, crazing, utensil marks or bottom shelf wear. ************************************** Purchase with confidence.
