Description: Vintage Made in Japan Maxon SD-9 in excellent condition. These first came out in in mid-late 1981 and this one is from '81. Black label, hand wired and is the early version (81-early 83) with hand-wired pots instead of mounted to the circuit board (early 83-84) . This has the original JRC4558D chip and I have recently cleaned all the pots and jacks so it's ready to rock. Everything on the board, including the pots and jacks, are original and it sounds awesome on a cranked high headroom low-med gain amp setting and are surprisingly quiet compared to about any other distortion pedal I've ever used. I just wish I had known about these back when they first came out!
