Description: This is a rare April 20th, 1939 playbill from the three-night, Post-Broadway engagement of the JEAN GIRAUDOUX comedy "AMPHITRYON 38" and the ANTON CHEKOV classic "THE SEA GULL" at the Hartman Theatre in Columbus, Ohio. ("Amphitryon 38" opened November 1st, 1937 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in New York City and ran for 153 performances. "The Sea Gull" opened March 28th, 1938 at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre and ran for 41 performances before going on the road.) ..... Both plays starred ALFRED LUNT and LYNN FONTANNE and the remaining members of the company included RICHARD WHORF, GEORGE MEADER, SYDNEY GREENSTREET, JOHN BARCLAY, BARRY THOMSON, MARGARET WALLER, JACQUELINE PAIGE, THELMA SCHNEE and EDITH KING .....
