Description: This is one of the most spectacular French sets I’ve seen in person. I have seen this same set several years back listed as early Chanel, but I have had many collectors, sellers and jewelry experts look at this set as it has many of the early Rousselet features, the components are definitely Rousselet, the backside of the brooch another example of Rousselet clasp, the earrings perfectly lined up as Rousselet as well, the one piece of evidence that was throwing many people off was the chain and clasp on the necklace, so we have a good and reasonable explanation for that, the added newer thin chain and simple thumb class was added at some point, perhaps to give it more of a longer style necklace instead of more closely to a choker style, the necklace without added chain would be around 16 inches without a clasp, stretched fully, the added chain on both sides gives this necklace a full 24 inches. This can be restored to original with more than liked a Rousselet barrel clasp, or possibly a different type of clasp that he would have used originally. If I decide to keep this I personally like the choker styles so I might restore it, if you are interested in this set I can change it for you or you can keep it as is. I am determining after much consideration and research this is highly a old Rousselet or early Louis Rousselet for Chanel. This is in mint pristine vintage condition and is very high end, please look closely at the exquisite details and has the twisted wire as something Chanel had on many of her higher end pieces. PD2
