Description: This is a lot of two (2) 1940 One (1) Penny British coins featuring King George VI on the obverse with a Seated Britannia on the reverse. The two coins are slightly different color from the each other ,which I attempted to capture in the photos. These coins are made of bronze and measure 30.8 mm / 1.21" in diameter. They are similar in size to a U.S. half dollar. Obverse: Uncrowned portrait of King George VI left, legend around. Latin Lettering: GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP.Translation: George the Sixth by the Grace of God King of all the Britons Defender of the Faith Emperor of India Reverse: Seated figure of Britannia right, with trident in left hand and shield bearing the Union flag in right, sea behind with lighthouse to left, "One Penny" lettering above and date "1940" at bottom. KM# 845 Each comes packaged in a protective coin flip.
