My pipes are ready to smoke once you receive them. A bit about this pipe ~ An incredibly sculpted sitter. Bit of char on her rim but otherwise is very lightly smoked. ~ After WWII the European briar pipe, especially those in Italy suffered from the allied onslaught. In the 1950's Lorenzo Tagliabue studied the trade closely from Castello and Brebbia, designing his own pipes with his own signature styles. Lorenzo believed and stated ''A pipe is like a woman it needs to be well balanced.'' During the 70s and 80s Lorenzo advertised their pipes as being ''Made for real men with strong hands.''
