Description: Listed Artist Margarida Kendall (Hull) Pencil Drawing Corcoran Art School GradOffering a very nice pencil drawing by Corcoran School of Art and Design trained artist, Margarida Kendall, originally from Ponta Delgada, Portugal. The drawing measures 13 3/4" high x 17" long and is graphite/pencil on paper tacked to a black mat and framed in a gilt gesso frame. The drawing depicts the interior of a grand hall with a fireplace and sitting area. The lush interior wall has insets of cows with a portrait of a cow above the fireplace. There are what appear to be snakes on the chairs. A typical architectural interior study with a bit of a surrealist twist. Nicely executed and signed and dated lower right Margarida Kendall '75. This piece was likely purchased from Kendall's exhibitions either at Pyramid Galleries Ltd., Washington DC in 1975 or at Maxwell Davidson Gallery, New York, NY in 1976. I am happy to ship this framed or unframed and adjust shipping costs accordingly. Margarida Kendall, born 1959 in Portugal, studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design and taught art at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Her work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon. She is married to artist Richard Hull and lives in suburban Washington, DC.
