Description: I will be selling pieces from my personal collection of American Brilliant Cut glass, so please add me to your favorite seller list for future rare pieces. .........................................................This is a great antique Liquor Decanter with trefoil spout and a pinched slender shape- the body is round but flat on both sides making it skinnyMeasure: It has a 9" wide rim and 2" tall.It is from the American brilliant period, (approximate period was 1870's to 1920) which is over 100 years old now! It is guaranteed authentic antique cut glass. This is a unique piece. I am still torn between American Cut or European cut blank from the period. Revi's Encyclopedia of cut glass, pg 85 shows this same shape decanter blank with a Bergen pattern on it. American companies did import and use Blanks from Val st lambert & baccarat, etc. So it is possible this is a Val st lambert Euro origin blank cut by an American company. Or it could be brilliant period cut over there and imported here which also happened. It has a wonderful early style Strawberry diamond & fan motif cut all the way around.Condition: This is 110 years old by now. I don't know id the stopper is original or not but it fits well and is from the period and the type they would have used. Where the handle attached at top, it has a tiny line of air and dirt trapped in it, but its firmly attached and not broken (the way it was applied). Stopper has a little nipping at the bottom so one will notice. The bottom has scuffs from age and 2 minor rough spots I assume were from surface contact but I am not sure. Only a light water mark in bottom and pretty clear for its age. Trefoil shaped Spout and sides of decanter are good without being flea bitten. This will display nicely and can be used too after sanitizing of course...........................................................No Returns! : Sorry but due to cost of shipping & insurance for this heavy glass, I have a No returns policy! I do not charge you extra for shipping the first time- I pay it out of pocket, and its expensive. I package very well at my own cost, I cannot get that shipping back and also give you free shipping back here as well because you decided it wasn't what you needed anymore. Please bid responsibly, thank youDamaged in Transit/Shipping: I will be shipping you expensive, fragile, antique glass. Therefore it will be treated as such. I wrap with lots of bubble and padding, use double boxing, mark fragile clearly all over the box, always pay to fully insure your item as well (so please read about Insurance claims next). Items over 250- value will also have signature delivery, if you are worried about the postman leaving your items please message me. Insurance claim (loss or damage): Please do not open a dispute with ebay without contacting me first because it is not necessary. I will make an insurance claim and you will be taken care of. I pack to survive, but if they break it I will need pictures to file the claim online. However, shippers do not just honor claims online anymore with the photo's only- now they tend to ask for an inspection of the item. USPS will send a letter within a week asking for the item to be brought in for inspection, while other companies may come to the residence for the inspection by appointment. I have to get the claim approved and the item inspected BEFORE I can refund now because they always require inspections and we have to comply with them. So first, pictures. Second, inspection with shipper. Third, shipper approval and refund sent to you.
