Description: Ohhhhhh...you don't own this yet? After Hair, after Oh Calcutta, who came next? It was these people who came, all over the historic Village Gate on Bleecker Street, and after several months of their off-Broadway run, they got to record the whole classy shebang for something called Libra Records. There can't surely have been many of these pressed, but I would also imagine that every copy not part of a dedicated Broadway LP collection (the kind of collection that has a special display space for "13 Daughters") is being offered for sale by folks trying to get it out of their homes. It's that good. Music and lyrics are by Earl Wilson Jr., and the story as I heard it was, two years later the show made it to Broadway, and lasted through previews before disappearing forever...but the baffling part to me is that Earl Wilson removed his name from the Broadway production, saying "It has become crass." Let me repeat, he's the one who wrote the original lyrics. I just can't imagine what the show's producers added to push this show beyond Earl Wilson's limit. If you're still reading this, I like you very much.
