ProvenanceThis volume is from the personal collection of Dieterich Kindermann, an avid book dealer and bibliophile, who began collecting in the 1960s and who was involved in the book trade since the 1970s. He owned and operated Das Romanie as an art gallery in Los Angeles in the 1970s and then as a bookstore and gallery in Eugene, Oregon, in the 1990s. Like many book dealers, he operated primarily out of his home and storage facility. Before he passed he had over fifty years in identifying and authenticating autographed materials and fine art. 98% of the books are in Fine or Near Fine condition. The only wear they may have is from shelf wear or a rare bump or ding when being moved in or out of storage. That said, each volume has its own description. For over 25 years, I was Kindermann’s partner; I apprenticed under him in the book trade, and I have been buying, selling, and authenticating for decades. We built our collections together and had a combined experience of over 70 years in the book trade. We are avid bibliophiles who rigorously grade our materials. If anything, we under grade. We love books, especially signed first editions, and we treat our books--eventually your books--with care and respect. Kindermann’s personal library spanned Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize Winners, notable politicians, poetry, Native American authors, the Beat Generation, Franklin Leathers, Science Fiction, and Modern American Firsts. I will continue to list materials here as I have time. The books will be sold as individual volumes—not as a whole collection.
