The laws presented in this book cover most aspects of life and government, presented alphabetically, from Academies to Wills and Estates. Here also are the laws pertaining to Bastardy (how to make the father pay) and Slavery (all the things a slave must not do, and things the importers of slaves must do). An appendix updates the earlier laws to 1816. Leatherbound hardback book in Fair condition. Book is clean and securely bound, pages have no writing except for owner’s signature on title page; paper is considerably tanned but not brittle. Cover has wear at the edges, especially at spine ends; front cover has a nibbled place at the top edge, a triangular tear of the surface layer, and a large spot; back cover has a tear at the bottom corner; spine has a 1-inch split at the back bottom, title label is legible but eroded at the edges. 5 ½ x 8 inches, 495 pages plus index.
