Late 50's Early 60's Kay Speed Demon Guitar With Hard Shell Case Mint Cond.

Description: Mid 60's Speed Demon here, with three Dia Pole pick ups, dressed with an original Wha Wha Bar. This was the top of the line for the Kay Speed Demon, in full glory, which had a "Classic Sprite Red" Attractive body, and an envy to all good youthful guitar players who could handle themselves in a recording studio! These speed demons are very rare! You simply cannot find them in this kind of sincere great condition. Once in a lifetime historic option right here. This Kay Legendary Speed Demon is in new like condition, says everything and all set up, and ready for the stage. By Music Connection, in Redding, California. Historically this was the helping hand under disguise and was extremely high in expense to make, and produce. It lead Kay Musical Instrument Co, eventually into Bankruptcy, because of it's expense to produce and place into production. These large American made pickups are die-pole De -Armans' made, by Kay and the three pickups and bass and treble knobs provided the player with a combination of many different sound varieties. Especially with the handy original wha wha Bar. It all brought any note or chord to a wavery, sonic like sound, which was very popular in doing solo cuts and embellishment endings or even starts. In the early fifty, and years of collecting, the single, double, and triple pickups of Kay Speed Demons, were generally speed bump pick ups. By mid sixties, the cinder colored bodies with yellow tinge, were replaced by the ones you see here, in one and two pickups. I've only seen one other like this, in this kind of condition! That is two! The only thing left out with this guitar is the original soft body case! This comes with a hard shell case that is era correct, but I doubt if it was original, but its patina and external blemishes on the case easily says it could have been sold with this guitar. The frets on this are like new, and the sound is crisp and clear, due to a thick 1/4 inch thick, rose wood fret board, makes it's truly a monster performer that was carefully kept in a safe temperature controlled area that sat for literally years, without any play! With its Hard shell Case all in Excellent condition.... this guitar is a very hard and rare find, to ever find one in this kind of condition! The thick Rosewood, Fret Board, helps make a solid crisp sound. Very, distinct fully full in clarity by itself without any amp power. The history of this guitar was short lived and had a very short production due to its high cost to make. Kay stopped its production and the company was later sold to a Japan firm, shortly after filing bankruptcy, all of its parts for these Kay model speed demons were all sent to the Japan Factory where they continued the production line but used lighter gauge accessories. Many can be seen listed here on eBay, but they were made with less rigorous metal and very thin cased pickups and tuner mounting brackets. With that, their run of these speed demons was somewhat short lived. Making them all actually very rare to find in good original condition. The Japan production used thinner gauge frets and much thinner metal tuners, that replaced the thick metal American die pole made pick ups and frets and the thick Waverly mounted tuner brackets and knobs much thinner metal tuner platforms. These American made Waverly Tuners, along with the thick frets, brought a clear and original sound to these early modal guitars. Also, the large dipole pickups' bore a high thick sound, echoing with enormous strength, brought solid variations in sounds which brought new resources of new original rock and roll cracking with great clear sounds. Thus allowing that fancy guitar player amassing a variety of creative new loud solo bursts. Thanks for visiting and learning about this "Historic beauty of the past". A true Gem! We are entertaining any all best offers. And a great special Thank you, to all the messages that have been sent to improve and correct the dates and model types preceding this model and the ones that came after this model.
