Description: These magnificent, large, cast iron sconce lights from around 1900s are seldom seen. These are larger than your average cast-iron sconces, standing 16" high with globes and weighing over 9 pounds with globes. Origin is unknown, but they are of a style and size that was common on municipal buildings and store fronts in the late 1800s and early 1900s. These beauties have been fully restored. The cast iron was stripped, given an anti-rust coating, then three coats of dead black enamel, followed by a hand applied top coat of museum grade micro wax. They are fitted with damp location sockets and a ground wire. The thumb screws are new and the screw holes were retapped. The sconces wear their age well with some authentic pitting, but no damage. See photos. The globes are 7" diameter, 4-inch fitter, cased opal glass. Specs: 8 pounds 1 ounce (each) w/o globe; 9 pounds 3 ounces with globe.9" extension from wall without globe; 10.5" extension with globe.6.5" x 4/.5" backplate10.5" high w/o globe; 16" high with globe Please see our other listings for a large selection of antique and vintage lighting.Vintage and antique lighting should be inspected and installed by a licensed electrician.
