Description: Korg modwave mkII Wavtable Synthesizer New in Box Japan import F/S Description Condition: New KORG MODWAVE mk II Korg Synthesizer Modwave Monster synth with a variety of features The new modwave mkII is now available. The number of simultaneous sounds was almost doubled and extended with free-running LFOs and other features. In 1985, the Korg DW-8000 combined a digital wavetable with rich analogue filters to achieve sounds that were impossible with analogue oscillators. For this reason, it is still popular among some enthusiasts. The modwave builds on the assets of its DW series and transforms it into a modern-day monster synth. It features incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, gorgeous filters, wildly flexible modulation, unparalleled polyphony, extensive coverage of pattern sequencing and a control system that is immediately accessible. modwave also features two unique new tools for dynamic change: Kaoss Physics and Motion Sequencing 2.0. kaoss Physics combines x/y Kaoss pads with modulatable game physics, making it as powerful as it is and responsive interactive controllers that are a pleasure to operate. Motion Sequencing 2.0 brings the organic, continuously changing patterns of wavestate's Wave Sequencing 2.0, including multiple lanes and real-time recording, into the world of motion sequencing, helping to create complex, evolving phrases that are impossible with other step sequences. Wave Sequencing 2.0 helps you create complex, evolving phrases that are not possible with other step sequencing. Like Wave Sequencing 2.0 (wavestate) and Altered FM (opsix), the evolved modwave wavetable synthesis offers its own completely unique sounds and functionally independent knob The wavetable synthesis is a unique and powerful tool that allows you to quickly and easily customise your own sounds. The distinctive wavetable tones start with aggressive basses and leads and lush ambient pads, adding a new dimension to your tracks. But that's just the beginning. Those who want to dig deeper will find endless sources of discovery. Once you start finding new sounds, keep digging. The modwave mkII offers a staggering 60 simultaneous voices, almost double the 32 voices of the original modwave. This is an unprecedented number for a wavetable synth in any price range. In response to user requests, free-run, delay start and retrigger options have also been added to all LFOs. A pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources and more have also been added. Monster synth with a variety of features Synth engine We call the wavetable oscillator 'deep', but that's no exaggeration: it starts with over 200 wavetables, each containing up to 64 waveforms, which become thousands of individual waves. 30+ modifiers allow you to change the basic characters or process them in real-time using 13 morph types. Create new hybrids from any two wavetables using the unique real-time A/B blend. A quick calculation shows that there are over 230 million wavetable variations available before modulation is added. It doesn't end there - load your own custom wavetables in Serum or WaveEdit format*. You can also layer wavetables using samples from the built-in large PCM library. *If an imported wavetable has more than 64 waveforms, it is now considered a generated crossfade and part of the intermediate waveforms are dropped to create 64 waveforms. Each programme features two full-featured wavetable oscillators, plus 12 stereo filters, including a sub-oscillator/noise generator, radical MS-20, sweet Polysix and a newly enhanced multi-filter. 4 triggerable envelopes, five LFOs, a dual modulation processor, two keytrack generators, plus a highly flexible modulation system with multi-lane motion sequencing and Kaoss Physics for almost control of almost all parameters. A single programme can play up to four wavetables per voice simultaneously, but modwave offers 60-voice polyphony, an impressive feat for a wavetable synth. two programs can be stacked, further doubling the possibilities. Kaoss Physics Kaoss Physics models how a ball rolls across a surface or bounces off a wall. The surface can be tilted in any direction and bumps (ridges) can be adjusted in height/depth and position to attract or repel the ball. Adjusting the friction of the surface changes the speed at which the ball moves, while adjusting the time can control the speed of the entire model. All of these traits are adjustable and can be changed in real-time. The ball can be started by flicking your finger on the x/y pad, or it can be started automatically using another modulation source. The ball can also be controlled directly by holding your finger on the pad. The position of the ball generates eight modulation signals, which can be controlled by X and Y position, distance from the centre, angle with respect to the X axis and finally +/- X and +/- Y individual signals. There are bumps in the plane, like valleys and hills, that go both down and up. The height and depth of the bumps can be set and the shape of the slope can be selected. The friction of the surface can also be adjusted so that the ball moves slower. The surface has walls on all sides and the ball bounces back when it hits the walls. The walls can slow the ball down, like an added buffer, or accelerate it, like a bumper on a pinball machine. Alternatively, the walls can be removed altogether so that the surface wraps around the opposite edge, as in vintage arcade games. In this modelled environment, certain modulation effects can be created. For example, a concave can be placed in the centre so that the modulation value always eventually returns to zero, or a convex can be placed on the sides or corners to move the modulation value away from that zone. Most parameters such as Tilt, Friction, Time, Bump Height and Position are adjustable; you can also adjust them from the output of Kaoss Physics. For example, you can adjust Tilt X with Kaoss Y. The result is an interactive controller that transforms your physical gestures into complex musical results. This is another real pleasure of Kaoss Physics.
