Description: FeaturesDynamic Power: The RPW-10's amplifier is rated at 200 watts RMS and 420 watts dynamic power. The dynamic power rating indicates the power the amplifier will deliver to the woofer under normal operating conditions for a subwoofer. While the RMS power rating indicates power available on a continuous, long-term basis, subwoofers rely on large, short-term peaks of power to to support the wide dynamics required by today's digital music formats and movie soundtracks. Therefore the dynamic power rating can be used as an indication of a subwoofer's real-world performance.Bass-reflex Design: The cabinet features a front-firing, slot-loaded port. This approach minimizes the distortion created in ported cabinets known as port noise and maximizes bass impact. With the driver and port both firing forward, the sub can be placed in a cabinet or on a shelf.ControlsGain: This unit has a rotary control to adjust the input gain; this can also be used to adjust the subwoofer volume, relative to the other speakers in the system.Low-pass Crossover: The crossover control allows you to adjust the upper limit of the subwoofer's frequency response from 40 to 120 Hz.Phase Switch: The subwoofer's phase switch allows you to select normal (0 degrees) or reverse (180 degrees). If the bass sounds muddy or unclear, toggling the phase control can strengthen the bass attack.Auto-On Circuit: The subwoofer has an Auto-On Circuit which turns the amplifier on when an audio signal is detected. It will automatically turn the amplifier off after approximately 20 minutes with no input signal. The LED indicator on the back panel glows green when the unit is on, and red when the unit is in standby mode. You can override the automatic circuit by switching the amp from auto to on. There is also a master power switch you can turn off.ConnectionsPreamp Level Input: The left and right line-level jacks should be used when connecting the subwoofer to a pre-amp, signal processor, line-level crossover, or receiver with pre-amp level outputs. Use the left input when connecting to a single LFE output.Speaker Level Input: The speaker level jacks connect directly to the speaker outputs of any amplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver.Speaker Level Output: For wiring convenience, the speaker outputs send a full range signal to the left and right speakers.Terminals: The speaker level inputs and outputs have binding posts that will accept bare wire up to 12 gauge, pin connectors, spade connectors, and single banana plugs.
