Description: Replacement On/Off Switch for KLH Model Eight Many vintage KLH Model Eight radios have broken on/off switches and many have been replaced with toggles, on/off/volume or line switches. I looked for years for a replacement switch without much luck. Finally found these. This is a brand new replacement with flatted shaft and a 30° index angle. It is a high quality, UL rated switch made of glass-filled nylon with silver-plated contacts. Contact rating is 2.5 AMPS @ 125 V AC. Rated for up to 15,000 make-and-break cycles at full load. The switch has 3 terminals so I've put heat shrink tubing over the unused terminal. The positioning pin is in the wrong spot so either drill a new hole or break it off and use the included lock washer. New hole goes at the 6 0'clock position, as shown in the 4th photo. Some Eights have a hole in the 2 or 3 o'clock position as shown in the 5th photo. The shaft accepts an original KLH Model Eight knob without modification. Please note: KLH Model EIght switches have been unobtainium for a long time. Now if you search for "KLH Model Eight switch" you'll find 3 choices: One seller offers a metal switch for $85 + $6.50 shipping. Another offers a glass-filled nylon switch IDENTICAL to mine, for $39 + $43 shipping (!). My switch works perfectly and will cost you a mere $25 with free shipping.
