Description: I can’t remember which of my elementary school teachers presented me and my fellow impressionable classmates with the dinosaur unit, but I do remember the names of all the dinosaurs we studied. And then, for years, the thrill was gone. Then in 1993, Steven Spielberg brought us “Jurassic Park,” and the thrill was back. Sequel after sequel followed. These did not escape me, so when I saw that plastic bin of dinosaurs at the local pharmacy, I put it in my shopping cart with the Milk Duds and Mother’s Day card. When I told my niece I had bought a bin of plastic dinosaurs, she commented, “Well…somebody had to.” Luckily, Mattel was accommodating enough to create a series of dinosaur-themed fashions and, long story short, I decided I would create a tongue-in-cheek series of Jurassic World Barbies, each of whom had one or more “pet” dinosaurs. By the time I had emptied that bin of dinosaurs, I had 13 dolls with pet dinosaurs ready for photos. “Red Carpet Triceratops” features a Fashionista Barbie wearing a Jurassic World skirt paired with a black tube top with straps. I accessorized with a black feather boa, blue sandals, a black faux-leather purse with bow tie embellishment, a black chain belt with mother-of-pearl dangle, black bow tie choker necklace, black beaded stretch bracelet, a dinosaur-themed cellphone, and a “Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom” poster. The skirt came with a dino tee that I used with a different ensemble. I am including a photo of the complete outfit in the original packaging, but the top is not included, nor is the packaging. The “pet” dinosaur walking the red carpet with Barbie is a Triceratops, which means “three horned face,” which is a genus of chasmosaurine ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the late Maastrichtian Age of the Late Cretaceous Period, and a herbivore. He sports a bow tie collar and leash that coordinate with Barbie’s jewelry.Everything comes to you from a non-smoking, Barbie-and-dinosaur-loving home, where if it were possible to have a pet dinosaur, we would rescue one from the dino shelter and not buy one from a breeder. Please note that I do not ship outside of the continental U.S. International shoppers will need to arrange shipping via an independent shipping service. I do combine shipping.
