Description: This is a rare November 19th, 1951 "Playgoer" playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the JOHN VAN DRUTEN play "I AM A CAMERA" at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The production would open November 28th, 1951 at the Empire Theatre in New York City and run for 214 performances.) ..... The play, which eventually became the basis of the award winning JOHN KANDER and FRED EBB musical "CABARET", starred JULIE HARRIS as "Sally Bowles" (winner of the first of her four Tony Awards for "Best Actress in a Play") and WILLIAM PRINCE and featured MARTIN BROOKS, OLGA FABIAN, EDWARD ANDREWS, MARIAN WINTERS and CELE McLAUGHLIN (who was replaced out-of-town by CATHERINE WILLARD) .....
