Description: JPL Jean Pouyat Limoges Chocolate Pot 3 Cups & 8 Saucers Floral Bird Red Trim For consideration is this antique partial serving set of a chocolate pot, 3 chocolate cups and 8 saucers made by JPL or Jean Pouyat in Limoges, France. On Replacements dot com there is no pattern name and they gave it the pattern number “POY52” which is described as a “floral vase, birds and red trim” which has an Asian influence. These were made between 1890 and 1902 according to the backstamp. The chocolate pot measures 10¾ inches tall with the lid in place; the pot measures 8½ inches tall at the handle, the inside mouth measures 2 1/8 inches in diameter and the outside mouth measures 3¼ inches in diameter; 6¼ inches from spout to handle and the base measures 3 inches in diameter. The base is double stamped. Note that you can “lock” the lid into place to keep it in place while pouring, a quarter turn putting the flowers left and right of the spout. Quite ingenious! The cups measure 3 inches tall, the mouths 2½ inches in diameter and the bases measure 1½ inches in diameter. The base of each cup is marked with a single mark. The saucers measure 4 7/8 inches in diameter and the bases are double marked (see photos). Note that there are slight variances to the flower placements on the cups and saucers. Some have 2 groupings, others 3, and not all are the same (hence the extra saucer photos). This partial set is in excellent antique condition with the exception of a chip on the inside of the lid rim (see photos). Also note it may appear there is a chip on the mouth but there are no sharp edges and feel as if it were glazed over. I may be incorrect but that’s how it appears to me. All other pieces have no nicks, cracks, repairs, scratches, discoloration or crazing noted. Buyer will pay shipping on a 5 pound box. Thank you for looking!
