Description: Intaglio print by Joseph Demarais, #61/100, 1965. Untitled, but appears to abstractly depict a family or small group of people. The image is approximately 2-1/2" x 1-1/2" and is professionally framed in a 7" x 11" frame. NJ/NY printmaker, sculptor, and educator Joseph Demarais exhibited in over 100 exhibitions in the U.S. and Europe. His works are in such collections as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Renwick Gallery, and the U.S. Department of State. He made hundreds of prints during his brief career of only 7 years, dying at the age of 44. He developed an influential "intaglio-relief" process, creating deeply textured images by building up zinc, copper, acetate, and masonite which resulted in fossil-like, bas relief textures. Demarais often portrayed the struggles and hardships faced by migrants to America. Condition: Excellent. Shipping: Priority - $9. (Shipped framed under glass).
