His father was a ship maniac who was known to have built the ship Queen Mary. As part of his job, John Kelly got to sail with his father and this helped inspire John to draw many scenes he experienced.John Kelly has traveled around the world and learned to paint with oil and watercolor, later on pastels as well. His works depict his many experiences with diverse locations of the world and showed his talent to the fullest.
