Description: This is a partial March 14th, 1927 program (playbill) from the Broadway engagement of the WINTHROP AMES' GILBERT and SULLIVAN OPERA COMPANY production of the GILBERT and SULLIVAN comic opera "THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE" (or "The Slave of Duty") at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City. (The Broadway engagement opened December 6th, 1926 at Plymouth Theatre and ran for 128 performances.) ..... The cast included JOHN BARCLAY, J. HUMBIRD DUFFEY, WILLIAM WILLIAMS, ERNEST LAWFORD, BERT PRIVAL, WILLIAM C. GORDON, RUTH THOMAS, SYBIL STERLING, DOROTHY COULTER, ADELE SANDERSON, PAULA LANGLEN and VERA ROSS. Despite this flaw, this program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
