Description: Make sure to BOOKMARK OUR EBAY STORE and check out OUR NEWLY LISTED ITEMS This is an original printed production art cover for Sgt. Rock #367, published by D.C. Comics in August 1982, and featuring cover art by the legendary Joe Kubert, with one of his absolute greatest, most classic, most iconic Sergeant Rock covers. This is a full-color production art cover, including both the front and back covers, and with printing on both sides of the covers, the same way it looks in the published comic. The piece measures approximately 10 3/4" by 13 3/4" when unfolded, and is slightly larger than the actual size comic. It has some general handling wear fold/crease marks, and also some light moisture stains near the bottom edge. It's not that noticeable from the front, but you can see it a little if you look at the second picture which shows the reverse side. What's a nice bonus, is that the inside back cover is a full-page ad for the legendary Joe Kubert School Of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Inc., which has produced many well-known comic artists. This is NOT a mass-produced print or lithograph. It is a production art cover that was created during the production process for the comic. The cover features a truly classic Kubert straight-on iconic pinup image with the Sergeant standing front and center, taking up most of the cover image, in front of a photo-realistic background, with the caption: "FOLLOW THE ROCK OF EASY IN I'M INFANTRY!" Kubert is one of the greatest artists of all-time in the history of comics, having begun his career in the Golden Age, and went on to become one of the most legendary Silver Age artists at DC. While he is best known for the classic D.C. War titles of the 1950's and 1960's, Kubert also did excellent work on many other titles, including Hawkman, the Brave and the Bold, Showcase, Tarzan, Superman, Batman, the Flash, and more. But he will always be best remembered for classic D.C. War, drawing the heroes of World War II, such as Sgt. Rock and the men of Easy Company, and so many other supporting characters and battle fighters from throughout the years from titles such as Our Army At War, Our Fighting Forces, Star Spangled War Stories, G.I. Combat, and more. A great piece for any Kubert or D.C. War fan, which would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed. Please note that this is an authentic piece from the 1980's, not something made for a later reprint or collection book. We have been told there are reprint production art pieces being listed by other sellers that make them seem to be old and from original printings, even though they are not (for example, older production art did not have the words on a separate sheet from the images. Those kinds of things were only done much more recently, using computer technology). We advise buyers to be careful, as there are disreputable sellers tricking many people into believing they are purchasing items that are older and more valuable than what they actually are. Some sellers simply do not state their items are from reprints, while others make very long listings and put a tiny mention about reprints buried deep in the listing, and/or use a hard-to-read font color (like yellow) to prevent buyers from seeing this information. Unfortunately, everything else in the listing (the title, pictures of the cover of the comic from the 1st printing, etc.) makes you think you are buying something from an original printing, and ebay has allowed this to continue despite many buyers saying that they have been taken for a ride and ripped off. This item is a genuine piece from the '80's, not something made for a reprint. We clearly differentiate items from original printings and items from reprints, so you can buy with confidence. Payment to be made within 7 days of auction close. International buyers please contact us for terms before bidding. We reserve the right to cancel any international bids that have not received prior approval. Check out our other auctions for more great items.
