Joe Hayman head on Wallace Oneil decoy body from Back Bay, VA Currituck, NC 1940

Description: This large canvasback decoy was purchased directly from the family that this decoy was originally used on Back Bay, VA near Pungo, VA. The family sold the grandparents home and these decoys were inside and they allowed us to sell these. The grandfather hunted these and had the head on the entire rig replaced at a later date by Joe Hayman from Churches Island, NC. After the head replacement they appear to be stored and never seen the light of day until 2022 when I purchased them. This is a rare find this day and time to have the history of the decoys and who and where it was hunted.
