Description: Since its collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, the New Balance 993 has remained out of the release equation as the Boston-based brand has focused on the inline colorways of its silhouette’s rooted in basketball heritage. The script has since been flipped. Entering his fifth collaborative capsule with the brand, Joe Freshgood’s distinct eye for disparate yet ideal color palettes and textiles is being realized to overwhelming appreciation with the release of his New Balance 993 “Performance Art” collection. “This project is the end of a chapter. If you line up all of my shoes that I’ve designed with New Balance you’ll notice the complimenting colorways— the 992, Outside Clothes, Inside Voices, and now Performance Art,” said Joe “Freshgoods” Robinson. “It represents my journey. When I first started working with New Balance, I didn’t know it was going to go this far, if this was a book the 993’s would complete the first chapter. It’s a combination of all of my shoes put into a pack. So, Performance Art is my rendition of working with New Balance and the final chapter of this color story.” The Performance Art Sage New Balance 993 Joe Freshgoods comes in a margarita and vintage rose color palette. The upper is made up of a mixture of suede and mesh. The sneaker has the signature New Balance ENCAP midsole technology for padding, support, and sturdiness. The rubber outsole provides grip and traction. The shoe features "N" on the lateral sides, "new balance Made in USA N" on the tongue, and "993" on one side of the heel. The design is completed with a "JFG" inscription on the heel.
