Description: For sale is Jim Kweskin & The Jug Band Greatest Hits!, originally released in 1970 by Vanguard Records in a double album set in a gate-fold presentation. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-A/1-C/1-A/1-A, indicating that the first stampers were used to make almost all of these first editions. These hallmarks are sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. Combined with the fact that Vanguard records are known for their state-of-the-art engineering, make this a remarkable sounding set. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the records into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve or insert with this listing. The cover is graded as VG+ because of corner blunts, edge rubs and ring wear on the outside and inside of the gate-fold. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of faint sleeve marks and some minor surface scratches on Side two, but the other sides are Near Mint Minus. I'm play grading it between Excellent and Near Mint Minus because of occasional very low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. Because of the scarcity of this album set, you would be hard pressed to find one like this beautiful first edition.
