Description: JFK International Airport Passenger Terminal Construction 1955 Press Release (Old Books, 20th Century Books, Press Release, JFK International Airport, Americana, Planning Notification). New York International Airport: Passenger Terminal Area. For Release-Monday February 21, 1955. Published 1955, New York, by Port of New York Authority, 111 Eight Ave. at 15th St. Item once owned by Peter Masefield. Interesting conceptual promotional item distributed prior to the construction of the airport. Before the airport passenger terminal was built, it was imagined (dreamed up), and then it was required to persuade the public. Here is the packet of images and information showing that attempt. Publisher's pictorial paper wrappers. Portfolio contains numerous stapled sheets, four original b&w press release photos showing the proposed structure. Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition. Binding age worn, folder with edge tears and splits along spine, mostly light or inoffensive signs of handling and time but nothing severe or unsightly, book remains overall attractive as an object. Paper is gently toned, still clean, tight, sound internally. Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail showing how this brochure booklet survives. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books, maps and printed ephemera of all types and genres. Flaws seen and/ or described have been taken into account. Book Measures c. 11 1/2" H x 8 3/4" W. [B9041].
