Description: Here's a scarce early pontiled J.BELL embossed seal blackglass liquor bottle from the late 1700s or early 1800 period.....J.Bell boldly emb on applied seal on front of bottle......Free blown so there are no mold seams...rough pontil scar sunken bottom.....crude applied double V ring collar....dark olive green blackglass....11 3/4"tall x 4 1/2"round (larger than normal blackglass liquor).....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. Light overall inside haze. An empty bottle with no contents as you can see. Crude whittled glass...a great looking early blown bottle! A slight crude natural lean to the bottle.
