Description: Phantom Flame is one of the newer cultivars of Japanese Maple. It will get to be up to 14' tall and 12' wide. It will do well for many years in a container as it has a slow growth rate. The leaves are yellowish-green with red tips in the Spring. They turn green in the Summer and then red in the Fall. Like all Japanese Maples it prefers a moist and acidic soil and some light shade, especially in the afternoon in areas with hot Summers. Hardy in Zones 5-8. These plants are in a 3 quart pot and are about 12" tall (the last photo is similar to the current size). They will be shipped bareroot with the roots wrapped and protected from drying out. We do recommend that you pot it up for a while before putting it into the ground.
