Description: Offered is a wood-hilted Iron Age dagger which, due to financial considerations and what I'm finding to be my target market, has a stainless steel blade, 9 3/4" x 1 5/16" x 1/8+". The hilt, made of walnut with a wenge (north/central African origin) pommel/cap, conceals a full tang and adds 5 1/2" to the length of the dagger. The intent is to offer a common person's weapon that will, in most circumstances, remain sheathed, with the severely-plain hilt giving it a visually greater degree of authenticity than most of the offerings you'll see on this site. This is not a cookie-cutter perfect, shiny, or ornate weapon; it looks and to an extent is handmade, with no two that I'll offer being exactly alike. The basic style will work for almost any time and place between c. 1000-800 BC through at least the end of an all-powerful Roman Empire, in the 5th Century AD. I'm biased toward Celts and Germanics, given my ancestry, but your historical identification and interest may be otherwise -- and this dagger will likely fit the persona you have in mind. The sheath is a project. I couldn't find time or decide whether to set it up with a belt loop or rig metal rings for suspending it by cord or light chain, so I'm sending what's seen in the pictures. Do it as you please, and have fun. Oh, and the edges are somewhat sharp and can be gotten more so with little effort. Be careful.
