Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Icon of St. Nectarios (or Nektarios) of Aegina (1846-1920), Metropolitan of Pentapolis and Wonderworker of Aegina. St. Nectarios was officially recognized as a Saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1961. His feast day is celebrated on November 9th. The icon is probably printed. The icon measures approximately 5 1/2” x 6 5/8”. The icon was hand-made by the Pefkis Workshop in Greece. The age of the icon is unknown, although it is probably contemporary. Estate sale find. A beautiful and inspirational piece of Christian and Greek Orthodox art! The icon appears to be in very good to excellent used condition with signs of wear, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, stray marks, rub marks, spots, perhaps some minor stains to the wood finish, and some minor stains, wrinkles, and “bubbles” on the paper certificate on the back of the wood plaque. There is also some minor wear to the wax seal on the back of the wood plaque. It’s possible that some of the blemishes are a result of the manufacturing process, especially since the icon was made to look aged. Please see photos, as they constitute part of the description. Item is offered “as is.” Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like additional photos. Thank you for your interest in this item.
