Description: Hutschenreuther Hand Painted Signed Cobalt & Gold Madame Recamier Portrait Plate Nice porcelain cabinet plate. Decorated with a very nicely done hand painted portrait of Madame Recamier. The portrait is signed by the artist Munde. The portrait is framed by a band of gold encrusted rings. Has a cobalt border above a gold encrusted band and gold scrollwork designs over a white background. Gold gilding the edge. Marked on the reverse with a black crown and shield mark above Germany. This mark was used by CM Hutschenreuther between 1893 and 1923. Also has a partially impressed Hutschenreuther shield mark. Also marked Gerard: Mad. Recamier No: 19. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 9 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece. BU GX
