Description: Description: FINE Large 19th c Early American Blown/Cut Glass Carafe or Decanter Pittsburgh? Item has blown glass body with engraved and cut diamond, star, sunburst, and floral design identical to pieces created in Pittsburgh, PA from 1830-1850. Applied foot and lip, stopper has scalloped edges and is squared off to create a hexagonal shape. Approximate Measurements: Carafe and stopper are 23" tall, carafe body is 14 1/4" long, stopper is 11" long, carafe base is 5 1/2" in diameter, stopper rest is 3 1/4" in diameter. Condition: Fine, antique condition, as found. Striation to lip caused by rotation of blowpipe as well as visible seam where lip has been applied to body.
