Provenance:This poster was gifted to the artist's clients who began corresponding with Christy beginning in 1950 and continuing into 1951. They had a son in the navy at the time. Howard Chandler Christy painted individual portraits of the couple in 1951. Christy died shortly afterwards in 1952. It is unknown whether he sent them the poster or personally gave it to them. The buyer of this poster will be provided the names of the couple and their son. This poster was in pristine condition when I acquired it. I had it professionally mounted on linen by M&W Graphics in New York.It did not require any touchup. Howard Chandler Christy lived from 1873 to 1952. He was one of the United States' premier artists of his time. He was well known for his illustrations for popular publications, books and his paintings. His WWII posters are famous. As far as I know, this is the only poster that he did for the Korean Conflict. This listing is for one authentic 1950 Korean Conflict era poster by Howard Chandler Christy.
