Description: Hope Arthur, 12/23/1931 - 07/29/2017. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, actress and teacher, but most of all she was a dame, in the best sense of the word. She charmed everyone she met. Hope won scholarships to both Northwestern University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England (fellow students included Peter O'Toole and Albert Finney). She acted in film, TV, radio, stage, web, making her Broadway debut in The Best House in Naples in 1956. She married travel writer Arthur Frommer, and wrote for the Frommer guidebooks. But Hope's true calling was teaching, which she did at the Lee Strasberg Institute for 38 years. Her students included Alec Baldwin, John Leguizamo and Adam Sandler. Hope is survived by daughter Pauline Frommer, son-in-law Mahlon Stewart and granddaughters Veronica and Beatrix Hand Autographed Signed Christmas Card from the 1970s.
