Description: Here I have for sale a remarkably well-preserved, stated First Modern Library edition of Honore de Balzac's Cousin Bette published in 1958 in this hardcover with dust jacket. Translated from the French by Kathleen Raine and an introduction by Floyd Zulli, Jr. The book is VG++ with clean boards and bright gilt. A little spotting on rear board. Binding is tight and pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is VG++ with no chipping or tears. Moderate sun staining to panels and spine. Inverse of DJ shows 383 titles which is correct for the 1958 1st edition. Toledano #8 spine. The jacket is price-clipped and is protected in mylar.
