Description: Camp Greene was a United States Army facility in Charlotte, North Carolina during the early 20th century, In 1917, both the 3rd Infantry and the 4th Divisions were first organized and assembled at this camp Named Camp Greene, after the Revolutionary War hero, Nathanael Greene. Around 40,000 soldiers trained at Camp Greene, a number approaching Charlotte’s 46,000 population at the time. The uncredited card is censored and postmarked in "Charlotte N.C. Greene Branch". There is, unfortunately, a torn off lower right corner, but the card is otherwise in good condition with minor wear overall and a clean, clear image of soldiers along the street. There is a "having a great time drilling" message on the reverse which is clean. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible. Corrections appreciated. If this your card, it will be mailed promptly upon receipt of payment......
