Description: This is an estate antique Royalty Collectable with the image of Nicholas II and another Russian leader (perhaps Ilya Tatischev) with the words "Hilfe Fur Die Gefangenen in Sibirien" on one side. English translation - Help the prisoners in Siberia. The casing is 63mm long, body diameter is 10.5mm, rim diameter is 10mm, and mouth diameter is 8.5mm. That would date it to around 1917 when Nicholas II was a prisoner and sent to Siberia. Both images show them wearing uniforms with medals and star badges. He and other Romanov's were murdered July 7, 1918. The images are sharp and crisp. It is missing a hollow nickel plated bullet that contained a pencil and the brass metal has some patina and the end has some tarnish. The rest of the pencil is still inside the cartridge. As the inscription is in German it may have been made in Germany or Austria. Similar bullet pencils have been made in England in the 1910's, Germany, and in the USA. This historical antique is not an actual bullet casing but was used to increase public awareness (and public opinion) on Emperor Nicolas II just before the last days of the Romanov's. I haven't seen others - perhaps it's the last survivor. Free shipping only in the USA via USPS first class.
