Description: Rare and in excellent condition: ‘Hawaiian Numerals’, by Henry J. Crocker. 1909 First Edition Hardcover w/22 plates in sleeve which fits into special pocket just inside front cover. Beautiful gilt front and back covers, gilt all 3 edges of pages. A very enthusiastic read by a great collector of Hawaiian stamps and covers. Crocker writes about losing a large portion of his award winning collection during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Very informative research, especially for that period. A very important philatelic work which any serious Hawaii collector would relish. The corners have some wear - as shown in the photos. Aging of a couple of beginning pages, one of which has a bookplate from C. Hustace Jr.’s personal library. Interior pages are clean. No tears or creases. Please see photos for details. Shipped via usps priority. Tracking and insurance provided.
