Description: Gymnocalycium spegazzinii v. armatum for sale here. Plant is in 3 inch pot with a single stem that is near 1-2 inch in diameter and high. G. spegazzinii v. armatum is usually unbranched, with flat to globose depressed stem, up to 4 inch in width, brown-green to light green, sometimes bronzed in full sun, spines 7-10, redish-brown to ash-gray, with dark tips, adpressed, somewhat curved backward, short, up to 2 inch long. is a very distinctive naturally occurring variant of G. spegazzinii with different seeds, darker purple-brown epidermis and long spidery brown spines. flowers appearing near the apex, diameter and height up to 2 inch, white with carmine/pink purplish throat. Fruits are globose of approximately 3/4 inch in diameter, becoming red carmine with maturity. Originally from Argentina (Salta, San Felipe).Plant ships bare root. USA and her territories ONLY.
