Description: **Please note. This is a difficult plant to start from seed. I do include directions for germination but the process takes at least a month and requires daily care*** This offering is for 50 seeds of the Gunnera Tinctoria plant. I have personally sprouted some of the seeds from the 2022 batch. See pictures. Good viability. Gunnera plants are a dramatic addition to any garden. Hardy to zone 7 it can be grown anywhere if you have an indoor grow space for the winter months or a cool root cellar type storage. I am in Alaska and have had wonderful success growing it in my Anchorage yard. The plant comes in for the winter as it will not overwinter in ground that freezes solid. Seeds are quite small and it does take time and commitment to produce the large plants with 20 foot spreads. But the effort is worth it to have such a large dramatic plant in your yard. It took me several years to figure out the details of starting from seed. It is doable if you are a committed and patient gardener. This is a bog plant that likes to have wet roots and some shade as hot sun will burn the leaves. Current supply of seed is limited until the next flowering. This is NOT a plant for an amateur grower. I've had to remove this listing before due to negative feedback of people who purchased and didn't want to read the included directions or contact me for help then left negative feedback. If you are not ready to tend to a seed daily, purchase a heat mat and provide general care as you would a human baby then this plant will not grow for you.
