Notarized on page 10 and signed by Toland on page 12 and signed again by Toland on page 10 where he confirms starting date of November 12, 1928. Also signed by Goldwyn Vice-President, Abraham Lehr on page 12. Employment contract between Samuel Goldwyn Inc. and pioneering cinematographer Gregg Toland for the film "Childs Fifth Avenue", starting salary of $100 per week commencing November 12, 1928 with options to renew for four years increasing to $200 in the final year. Includes a morals clause. We could not find any record of "Childs Fifth Avenue" being produced. Toland died young and his autograph is scarce. Gregg Toland (1904-1948), born May 29, 1904, Charleston, Illinois; died September 26, 1948, Hollywood, California; American cinematographer/photographer; winner Academy Award "Wuthering Heights" 1940 and nominated another 5 times including "Les miserables" 1936; "Dead End" 1938; "Intermezzo: A Love Story" 1940; "The Long Voyage Home" 1941; "Citizen Kane" 1942.
