As essentially ... this was the long-waited " Return " of The Grateful Dead ! to Veneta from the Legendary ! 8/27/72 Veneta, Oregon Show ... aka. " Sunshine Daydream ! ". Some do feel that 8/27/72 was one-of, if not simply " The " most-important Dead Shows in the Band's entire History ! And, I sure do agree - that it is up there. But, being that this still is America & all - a land where everyone is entitled to their own opinion - even if it is in the great " minority " ... and so, here - with no Furthur adieu - here's mine ... This-Show ! on 8/28/82 ( nearly 10-years to the date, of the 8/27/82 Show ) ... is actually Hotter !! And yes, by " Hotter !! " - I am not taking about meteorological ( because 8/27/72 clearly wins that trophy ) - but, I'm talking Hotter !! like The-Band ! is Hotter !! - and ... Garcia !! is Hotter !!! I mean - let's put it this way ... in '72 the Strat ! got a little bit of mercy ( here & there ) - but, in '82 ... Tiger ! got None !! And yes, I'm very-well aware that I am " The-Only " Deadhead that truly does believe this - but, it's just how I feel. And, quite frankly - I've " outgrabbed " my 8/28/82 Tapes a near 2-to-1 in ratio since having them both in my possession from way-back in the Late '80's As from the late Set I China > Rider ! On ! ... This-Show is just flat-out Magical !! ... & flat-out Mean !!! I mean ... Look-Out ! for that Other One !!! I'd even go as far as calling this Show a " Top 5 " of All ! of 1982. It's just So-Nasty ! - and the Boys are simply unwilling to not make this one count -- Big-Time !!! The Grateful Dead's " Second Decadenal !! " Field Trip !!! to the Magnificent & Glorious !
