Description: WONDERFUL antique art deco designer signed, ORNATE sterling silver carnelian and marcasite filigree lavaliere style necklace. This stunning necklace is in extremely good antique condition. The chain portion to the drop is nearly 28” long. The drop is 2 7/8” total length with a 1 5/8” by 1 1/4” pendant portion. The filigree detail on this necklace is truly lovely throughout. The carnelian stone is beveled around the edges and is firmly prong set in this beautiful setting with faceted marcasite stones set on the sides, above and below with one stone set in the filigree section just above the pendant. There is one marcasite missing above the carnelian, but this is not obvious by any means. While marcasites offer diamond-like sparkle, they do blend in, so are not obvious when missing. They are relatively cheap to replace, in any event. The chain is a lovely rope chain and it is finished with a particularly pretty floral filigree hook and eye clasp. The pendant is stamped with a designer’s figural mark and “Sterling”. All of the silver in this necklace, including the pendant, chain, clasp, etc., has been professionally tested as sterling silver.
