Gordie Howe 1965-66 NHL Hockey Coca Cola Perforated, PSA FR 1.5, back damage

Description: This is a 1965-66 Coca Cola NHL Hockey Card of Detroit Red Wing Hall of Famer Gordie Howe. The cards were not assigned individual numbers, and there are 108 cards in the set. These cards were not sold when they were produced. In order to obtain them, ten bottle cap liners (the liners resemble cork) from Coca Cola or Sprite specially marked bottles with the team's nickname stamped on the liners were mailed in to the Coca Cola bottler and exchanged for a team set of eighteen cards. The cards were connected in a row with perforations, hence the "Perforated" on the PSA label. The bottle caps had two crossed hockey sticks above the product name. The cards were mailed to the consumer from London, Ontario. The text on the reverse of the card is both in English and French. This card was sent to PSA for authentication, encapsulation and grading. It was authenticated and given a grade of FR 1.5 (Fair, 1.5). The Authentication Number is 73274105. ****There are stains on the reverse from two pieces of cellophane tape and when they were removed they pulled off some of the surface of the card in both places.**** Please see the photographs. Gordon "Gordie" Howe, 1928-2016, was "Mr. Hockey", "Number 9", a Canadian hockey player who was beloved in Detroit and throughout the hockey world. From 1946 to 1980, he played for twenty-six seasons in the National Hockey League and then six seasons in the World Hockey Association. His first twenty-five seasons were with the Detroit Red Wings, he was a twenty-three time All Star, he won the Stanley Cup four times with the Red Wings, and was a six-time winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player.
