Description: Newly cut quartz base gold silver copper ore that also has crystalized gemstones dendritic patterns, from a deep earth mined quartz ore. End cut with natural sides, one cut face. Gold and tarnished silver with a hint of copper in veins showing on the cut face but are large raw silver gold, copper on the natural edge that wrapped around the white quartz. You can see a little chrysocolla in the slab as well. Snow white quartz ore with no magnetic properties. It is not had very much polishing leaving the silver with a tarnished look. 1800s deep earth mine ore from the historic, registered Ore Knob Copper Mine North Carolina. Long closed, non-producing mine located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The mines history can be found online, very few images and specimens exist from the earlier mine operation and settlement town that once existed around it. Incorporated in the mid 1800s, with history that is much older. 3/7/8 inches x 2 inches x 1-1/2 inches. Measurements from the longest points of the shape. There is a possibility of Platinum in this one as well., but not certain, note the outer surface with a gray silver spot that is not tarnished silver. It is a small spot, and I did not want to file it off to test it, there is several platinum's ore mixed with gold and silver that came from the mine, some are currently listed on my E Bay store., This ore slab is a little over one lbs. in weight.
