Description: Description Giulini Bruckner Symphonies No.2 & No.9 2 SACD Hybrid TOWER RECORDS JAPANProduct introduction Coupling two kinds of Giulini's famous performances recorded one after another in Vienna and Chicago in the 70's.Excellent recording by Bishop & Parker with high sound quality. World's first SACD.A collection of two Bruckner recordings of the former EMI label, which Giulini recorded in 1974 and 1976 one after another. By improving the quality of the excellent recording by Bishop & Parker, the original sound left in the master has been revived. In No. 2, the gentle sound of Vienna suitable for the song and the characteristics of the recording location are captured in detail, while in No. 9, the brilliant sound of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in its heyday and the wonderful sensibility of the entire orchestra are both clearly captured. It can be seen that both were excellent performances and excellent recordings that fully matched the sound required of Bruckner. For this reprint, we used a master digitized at 96kHz/24bit from the original master in our country, and newly mastered the SACD layer and CD layer separately. It is a permanent preservation board.Giulini's Bruckner board history began with No. 2 with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in December 1974 (there were live recordings before that). It is not clear why it was not the Vienna Philharmonic, but it seems to be due to the fact that this combination was very popular at the time (chief conductor in 1973-76) (Vienna · Phil has H. Stein board of DECCA recorded in November 1973). At the time of recording, as EMI, the aforementioned Bishop & Parker went to Musikverein to record. The effect is tremendous, and this sound source, which has carefully considered the characteristics of the orchestra and the hall, is actually very excellent in terms of sound quality. I don't think No. 2 is usually recorded unless it's a complete collection recording, but it can be said that it is a unique sound source in that respect, probably because of Giulini's passion. And in December 1976, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and No. 9 will be recorded. During this period, along with DG, Giulini also produced several albums with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1969 on EMI. This was the last recording for EMI. And only this time, it's recorded by Bishop & Parker instead of the previous producers and engineers. Many people may think that the EMI recordings of Giulini & Chicago Symphony Orchestra before that are not very good in terms of sound quality, but the difference in sound quality is clear. This recording contains the sound of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in its heyday, and it has a solid Giulini-like music that is neat and has a rich inner voice, which will be the foundation for the DG board with the Vienna Philharmonic later. In addition, the state of the original master this time is very good, and since it has been improved mainly around the high frequencies, which had been somewhat cloudy, each instrument can now be seen more clearly. The tones of the Chicago Symphony, with their good separation and thickness, are a masterpiece! In addition, in this reprint, a detailed Japanese commentary by Kozo Asari has been newly posted. The sentences that Mr. has a strong feeling are also interesting as reading material. In this series, the SACD layer aims for high resolution and a rich sound field with extended high frequencies and soft nuances, while the CD layer aims for a solid and solid sound with a sense of reality. The potential of the CD itself is also high, so please enjoy it as an SACD hybrid board where you can enjoy the goodness of both.Work informationMainConductor: Carlo Maria GiuliniOrchestra: Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra OthersComposer: Anton BrucknerContents Number of components | 2 sheets Track ListingAnton Bruckner:
