Description: Description George Szell: The Warner Recordings 1934-1970 14 CD Box SetProduct introduction 50th Anniversary of George Szell's Death - Complete Collection of Former EMI Recordings George Szell's commitment to musical truth made him one of the 20th century conductors who was able to bring out the charm of the work without subjective empathy. His uncompromising pursuit of perfection drew high-quality performances from soloists and orchestras. In particular, his long tenure as music director of the Cleveland Orchestra (1946-1970) elevated the orchestra to the highest level of ensemble performance in the world. This 14-disc set contains Szell's entire legacy for former EMI. In addition to classic recordings such as "R. Strass: Four Last Songs" with Schwarzkopf, "Brahms: Double Concerto" with Oistrakh and Rostropovich, and "Beethoven: Complete Piano Concertos" with Gilels, the set also includes recordings that have never been released on CD before. Additionally, an audio documentary by John Tonlansky, a producer and writer who specializes in documentaries on classical musicians (including interviews with notable people connected to Szell, some of the recordings included in this box), features a portion of Gilels and Szell rehearsing Beethoven: Emperor. Each recording is either the most recent remaster or a new 2019-2020 24bit/192kHz remaster. Each disc is enclosed in a paper sleeve designed with the original LP jacket of the recording, and is enclosed in a clamshell box.Work information Conductor: George Szell Orchestra: Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra Contents Number of pieces | 14 Track Listing 《CD1》 1-3) Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D major Op.61 4-7) Lalo: Symphonie espagnole Op.21 [Performed by] Bronislav Huberman (violin) Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra [Recorded] June 18-22, 1934, Vienna, Konzerthaus (mono) [Remastered] 2017 (1-3)/2020 (4-7) 《CD2》 1) J.
