It's not uncommon to see mass planting of gazanias in SoCal city medians or out in large patches in the wild near wineries. Grow them in full sun and provide plenty of water during the summer when they are most active. Remove spent flowers to promote more blooms or let them go to seed and let the plants spread freely in your garden. Bees and hummingbirds are both attracted to the bright blooms. Blooms may last several days as they open with the sun and close at night. All parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested - except to rabbits who seem to really love eating this plant.
